Description
If you are experiencing poor image quality using the Synergy system the first component to examine is the endoscope. Poor optics will compromise image quality. An endoscope may look fine to the naked eye, but if you examine closer you may be able to see problems that could cause a poor image. Maintaining the endoscopes may be the most important aspect of a clear image. The Arthrex scopes ship with polishing paste.
Using the polishing paste (810 100 1000), clean the distal tip and proximal base of the endoscope. Ensure that you are not using a rough cloth. Inspect the scope upon completion to ensure all of the paste is removed. If paste is left on during sterilization it could ‘cook’ onto the scope, causing black spots that cannot be removed in the sterile field.
